Larry Mousouris
Tennis Professional
Larry has a degree in physical science from Cal Poly and was their “All American” number 1 player.  He did graduate work in kinesiology and physical education at Cal Poly and Sacramento State, as well as, receiving a teaching credential from SBCC.  He has been a USPTA professional since 1982 and was SBCC coach of the year in 1989.  Larry as been the USTA tournament director for the Men’s 50’s National Hard court Championships for the past 25 years.  Larry has been teaching tennis at SBTC since 1973 and has been the coach of US Open junior champions:   Mike Falberg (1980) and Tim Triguiro (1985), as well as, coach for top 10 nationally ranked players:  Mark Wooldrige, Alex Nizet, Heath Montgomery and Spencer Simon.

Mark Basham
Tennis Professional
Mark has a very colorful tennis history.  After graduating from Santa Barbara High in 1981, he won the National Amateur singles Title along with the National Amateur Clay court Doubles title in that same year.  He also played on the NCAA championship teams in 1981 and 1984, while earning ALL American status in Singles and Doubles in 1984.  In 1985 Mark received the “Unsung Player” award for NCAA division 1 Men’s Tennis.  After graduating from UCLA with a Sociology degree in 1986 he played on the pro circuit for over two years playing in the doubles main draw at the French Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.  He went on to become Tennis Director at Birnam Wood Golf Club from 1990-1996.  Mark was the Tri County Area Training Center Coach for two years and the USTA Boys and Girls Team Zonals Coach in Pompano Beach, Florida, and in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Mark has been our Tennis Director since 1996 and has an excellent understanding of both the mental and strategy aspects of tennis and enjoys teaching a variety of ability and age levels.

Jeff Villano
Tennis Professional; Pro Shop Owner & Master Racquet Technician
Jeff has been at the SBTC for almost a decade.  He is a USPTA certified teaching professional and a USRSA Master Racquet technician.  Jeff grew up in Santa Barbara as a highly ranked junior in Southern California and won four straight CIF championships on the SBHS tennis team.  He played for SBCC, Westmont College and UCSB.  Jeff loves teaching our younger tennis players.

Adam Webster
Tennis Professional
Adam has been on the court since he was six years old and has become one of the best players in the area.  He was ranked number three in Southern California at age 16, ranked number two at the age of 18 and number 33 nationally.  He went on to become ranked number two in the Southern California Men’s open Division.  Adam holds a degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State.  We are very lucky to have had Adam teaching at SBTC for the past five years.  Adam stated ,"I love teaching and the challenges it brings.”

Ferenc Hodosy
Tennis Professional
Ferenc has a highly successful coaching, educational & tennis playing background with over 20 years of experience as a tennis director and tennis professional. Ferenc was named Tennis Director of the Year in 2008 by the USPTA -  The United States Professional Tennis Association for his vast experience and success as a leading Tennis Director and Tennis Professional in the California Division.  He  also holds the highest USPTA Professional I certification rating from the USPTA.

Ferenc’s extensive coaching and player development experience comes through a number of high level teaching positions where he coached players of all ages & playing levels.  As the owner and Tennis Director of the Beachside Tennis Club, he organized his own  private membership and tennis school.  He also served as the Tennis Director & Head Tennis Professional of the Four Season’s Biltmore, Fess Parker’s Double Tree Resort and the Ennisbrook Club. Additionally, he was the Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Westmont College. 

As an open level player, Ferenc received the #1 ranking for the USTA  in doubles for Southern California in 2006 in the open level. As a collegiate tennis player, he won the Western State conference Singles and Doubles Titles and was named Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Player of the Year.  He played for the top 5 national ranked Cal Poly, SLO Tennis Team.  He graduated in Business Administration and went onto the Graduate School of Education at UCSB to earn a California State Teaching Credential.

Ferenc was honored with The Santa Barbara’s Local Hero Award in 2007 for his extensive community service in Santa Barbara.  In addition to his full time teaching positions, he has also served for the past 15 years as Program Director of the highly recognized Match Point Program, an after-school academic, mentorship and tennis program for disadvantaged youth.

Ferenc looks forward to helping to develop the SBTC's adult & junior programs and teaching players of all ages and levels at the Club with his comprehensive tennis background.
